Wednesday the 8th May sees the New Moon in Bharani nakshatra in Aries. Embrace the power of Shakti. The New Moon is a time where the Sun and Moon are aligned, where the Sun brings to light issues in the sub-conscious mind and we begin a new phase or chapter. Aries is a fire sign ruled by Mars, the planet of courage and motivation. Mars is currently in Pisces where it gives motivation and drive to follow dreams and ideas. Bharani is ruled by Yama, the God of death. This is the portion of space which rules women’s reproductive issues and is symbolised by the female yoni. Metaphorically this is a time to give life to a new chapter following the end or annihilation of old ways. There is a possibility that issues pertaining to female reproduction, women’s rights and female power will come to the fore in the coming weeks.

Note that the 10th May is a special time when the Sun and Moon are both in their position of exaltation. This is celebrated as Akshaya Tritya and is an auspicious moment to put our new plans into action and amplify results.  A puja to the Goddess Lakshmi is quite traditional in an effort to ensure never-ending prosperity.
